A Long Night...

Where do I begin...last night was a long one!
At first Riley didn't want to go to sleep--teeth maybe? We can't get our fingers into the back of his mouth too often to check, but we know that he has had molars on the verge of breaking through the gums for quite some time. He finally fell asleep an hour after we started to put him to bed (after motrin and some snuggling with mom)...but then Mason woke up screaming. He screamed and screamed. I finally gave in and nursed him (AGAIN) and put him back down. He slept for 15 minutes, maybe, and woke up screaming again. We gave him motrin and snuggled and put him down and he slept until 1:30, at which point he was screaming for the third time. More motrin and a big of snuggling and he was out--I moved him into his crib (he was out cold), but as soon as his little body hit the mattress he was awake and SCREAMING-AGAIN!!!!!! So I ended up sleeping (if you want to call it that) with him on the sofa.
Well-just got a glimpse of his lower gums and there appear to be two little teeth that are about to make their grand entrance-no wonder he was so cranky last night! I pray that they come in quickly!!! Thank goodness I didn't have to work today or I would have been useless!

So last weekend, Mom, HC and I went to the American Idol live show...yes, you read that right, the American Idol live show! We had a reason though! HC and I knew Adam Lambert back when we were younger (I went to middle school with him, and HC and I both did theatre with him). The day before the show my mom got an email from Adam's mom asking if we wanted to go backstage--so we ended up going backstage after the show and meeting all of the "idols". We had a good time and enjoyed seeing Adam again-he was as nice and ever. While we were standing in line waiting to say hi I was watching him greet his other fans-he had a compliment for all of the kids who came to see him whether it was about their poster they had made, or their hair etc-what a positive role model for these kids! He was just as nice with us, and asked all about what we were up to and all about my kids. It was really nice to see that even after being all over the place, including on the cover of Rolling Stone, he is still the same person he was-I don't think that happens too often.

Mommy & Daddy had a Date Night

We had a date night! Our friends Devon & Stephanie tied the knot! They had a beautiful ceremony in downtown La Jolla overlooking the water. Steph was stunning in her dress. We had a great time! Congrats to Devon & Stephanie!!!!

Keeping Busy

HC has been watching the boys for two weeks now---so far so good! He seems to be enjoying his time with them, and hasn't told us he's leaving yet! Riley and Mason are both really enjoying spending so much time with their uncle, and we are so relieved to have someone so wonderful watching them.
