Julian Mitchell

Julian Mitchell joined the chaos on August 19th, at 4:55am. He weighed 6lbs 14oz, and was 19 inches long. His delivery was a breeze, and everyone is home now and doing great. Riley and Mason love having baby "hoo-nan" or "vulian" home and are really great with him so far.

Note the kinks in the cord and the double knot hidden just under his foot.

Proud Daddy

Our third sweet son

The proudest big brothers around. When they first saw him they wanted to see his fingers and toes to see how tiny they were. They also love how soft his hair is.

August 8, 2011

Well here we are waiting for baby boy #3 to decide he's ready to join the party. We're already five days past when Mason was born, and today is when Riley would have been born. Guess this little guy is a bit more patient than his older brothers.
In the meantime, the boys have been entertaining us. Riley's latest thing is knock-knock jokes, although he doesn't get that you ask someone else to take part in them. They go something like this (all said by Riley with no breaks) "Knock, knock. Who's there? Napkin who never wipes!". "Knock, knock. Who's there? Cow who doesn't moo!". He and Mason have a great laugh at these "jokes" and John and I can't help but laugh too. The sense of humor of a four year old is really something.
Mason on the other hand has taken to telling stories at the dinner table. They go something like this "Once 'pon a time there was a little girl named Mommy. She went up a hill. The end.". "Once 'pon a time, there was a little boy named Riley. The end.". "Once 'pon a time there was a little girl named Grandma, she was sleepin. The end.". Perhaps we have a future author on our hands.
The boys have also taken to sleeping in Riley's bed together. Each night when I go in to check on them and close the door they are both in Riley's twin bed sound asleep right next to each other. It's very sweet. I want to get a picture, but they are up before the sun comes up in the morning, and it's not as if I can take one at 10:00 at night. Maybe they'll start sleeping in soon and I'll be able to capture these sweet moments.

Finally, a picture of the newest member still hanging out in the belly. This was taken just last weekend, at 36 weeks, 2 days.

Mothers Day/Johns Birthday

Spending some quality time in our backyard. Mason had so much fun swinging with Daddy. Look at how he is even holding on.

At Torrey Pines Beach celebrating Mother's Day for me, Brooke, Kelly and Margie. We still think of her everyday. Look at how big that belly is getting-23 weeks here.

Daddy kept pretending to be unable to blow out his candle; he thought one of the boys would blow it out for him. The boys however just sat there and got more and more concerned with each "try"! Look at Riley's face! Happy Birthday Daddy!!!

The boys helped bake and then decorate Daddy's birthday cake. They were so proud of it, and did such a good job.

New Addition to the Fiedler Family

Well here it is...baby number three's first picture (taken 5 weeks ago)! He or she is due to join the chaos in our house September 1st. I'm just about to wrap up the first trimester which is wonderful news. I've been STARVING for the last three months, and have had morning sickness on and off the whole time, plus I've just been exhausted (although who knows if baby, two toddlers, or the holidays followed by tax season are to blame for that!). The boys started asking me just a few days after John and I found out we were expecting if there was a baby in my tummy because I started to show at six weeks. It's been quite an adventure so far. I can already feel the baby everyday kicking around in there, and after last week's visit to the doctor it's no wonder why-this little thing is a dancing machine. The doctor tried to take a couple pictures last week and couldn't get any because it didn't stop moving the whole time. Every picture is just a blur.
Looking forward to the arrival of our newest love...

December Fun!

We went to Disneyland to see the park with all of it's decorations last Friday. It was raining which was great for keeping the crowds away, but bad because we were soggy. It wasn't a hard rain at any point, just a constant drizzle- just enough to keep us damp.

Smiles All Around

Riley's school did a Christmas pageant, clearly he was the cutest Sheppard around! He was all smiles when the kids were lined up at the door, but once he walked by us and down to the front of the church he was ALL TEARS!!! Everywhere! He ran to the arms of his teacher and cried for most of the performance. He finally perked up towards the end and sang a couple of the songs the kids had learned.

Papa and our favorite Sheppard.

M Turned 2

Well it's official now...we have two toddlers in the house! Mason turned two just after Thanksgiving and we celebrated with a small family breakfast. The birthday boy loved his muffin (although it looks like a cupcake), and even managed to blow out the candle, after Daddy picked him up a little bit. Riley was a great assistant in opening the gifts, and Mason was very kind to let him help. It was a wonderful day.
