Easter Fun

Well it was a beautiful day in San Diego and it made for a lovely Easter day.
When I went in to get Riley this morning the first thing he said was "Easter bunny come already"-he could hardly wait. We all got dressed then headed to the back to hunt for eggs. The boys loved it, and Ri did such a good job helping Mason get the hang of things. Once we were done here it was off to Brooke and Andrews for egg hunt number two, and brunch with the family. Then after nap time it was off to my parents house for dinner where the boys got easter bunny basket number three! Boy they made out today! The Easter bunny was extra sweet to them---if only it had been because they had been good.
Plus, a little earthquake while we were sitting outside at my parents house-wow did that shake! Plus the aftershocks-I love CA-I'll take an earthquake anyday over a tornado though.
Hope everyone had a nice Easter. I'm off to bed for two final weeks of tax season...

Happy Easter! (I look so tired-must be tax season)
Trying to open it for the goodies...

Riley on all fours getting an egg

He realized that there were goldfish or kix in the eggs the Easter bunny left at Auntie Brooke and Uncle Andrew's house so he kept trying to pick up five or six at a time-then he finally gave up and just sat down to start eating what he had.

The Easter Bunny

Had so much fun hunting for eggs!

Look at what I've got Mom!

Riley is telling Mason "Right there Mason-Easter bunny egg right there...put it in your basket Mason...right there..." such a good brother.

Need a Laugh?

Uncle HC's second video of the boys...I love it!

HC takes the boys out running nearly every day (when it's not raining-yeah el Nino), and when he runs he doesn't wear a shirt. So, Riley tells us that he is going to run like Uncle, lifts his shirt up under his chin and runs around...HC put it to music...I honestly started to cry I laughed so hard the first time I watched this.

Sweet Boys

The guacamole fiend. Mason kept dipping his chip in, licking the guacamole off, then dipping the chip in again for more. So glad we were not at our own home! I told him he would never be invited back if he behaved like that!
Mason will kill me some day for this picture...but what a cute little tush!

I love this boy.

Masons first experience painting-note it all over all of him, including his face-he kept eating it-see comment on guacamole prior to this! Same thing!

Feeding Lightning McQueen (his car) breakfast-cars need to eat too! While most "eat" gas-Lightning wanted pancakes this day.

This Little Piggy

Riley loves it when John does his little piggies...he will ask John to do the other one (foot) over and over and over again. Well through all of the countless times John has done it he has memorized it himself and now loves to do it to all of us (although he still wants John to do it to him!).

No Sleep in Our House

Well we are on night 11 or 12 (I can't keep track anymore) of little to no sleep in the Fiedler house. It all started just after Christmas....
Riley woke up around 6am screaming "get that off" in a very odd tone so I went in there to see what he was talking about. In the night, probably half asleep, he had wrapped a piece of yarn from his blanket around his finger and it had tied into a knot and got stuck. By the time he woke up from the pain the tip of his finger tip was completely black and so swollen that I could barely get to the yarn with a pair of scissors (I had to risk cutting him becuase I was already afraid he was going to lose his fingertip). I was able to cut it off, and although it took a few minutes for any color (even purple) to return to his finger, and it took forever for the indentation to go away, he is fine. However, the following nights he would wake up and say Riley "need want" kiss, well he would cry hysterically and say that. When I would go in there he would give me his finger to kiss, so we think he was having nightmares about the yarn. Then he started falling out of bed. John created a side rail for his bed now and although Riley thinks it's great that he has a new bed, he doesn't want to stay in it now. We found him asleep in the living room two mornings ago. He wakes up and says he has to go potty about a dozen times (which is a fib)...not sure what to do.
In the meantime Mr. Mason has learned to wake up and cry so hard that he starts choking because he is not breathing. Now naturally they don't do this at the same time. Last night Riley screamed from 9 to 11, then Riley picked up about 10:30 until midnight, and again at 4am. The only good news, and it is that, is that generally they don't wake each other up. Well actually I'm sure they do wake each other up, but they tend to just roll over. Now that I typed that I"m sure they will both be up screaming tonight---maybe we'll just close the door and turn the monitor off...but then HC would have to listen to it all night.
SIGH!!!!!!
At least they will grow out of all this together. Hopefully soon!

It's Official...Life Just got CRAZY

Well I think we can officially say that Mason is walking now. Last week he was only walking long distances when there were girls to walk to (geez-I am worried for when he is 16), but today he was walking everywhere and there were now girls here! Life gets a bit more crazy starting today...way to finish the year with a bang Mason!
